Great Craftsmanship

I will be giving this to my youngest as a Yule gift. I think they will love it and it will last a lifetime for sure.

Leather Fanny Pack

The leatherwork of this pouch is as good as you'll get. I look at it and I can't think of an error in its make. If anything made of leather was designed to last a lifetime then this pouch was. I'd give it a 5 star rating for that fact alone. However, the metal components are of too light an alloy. The buckle will be the first to go, and it will go in time with use. It means the buckle, and also the studs, will eventually have to be replaced on an otherwise lifelong investment in a pouch. The only reason I see this as a flaw, really, however, is because it simply contrasts so heavily with such fine leatherwork. I believe such a finely crafted pouch deserves a proper steel buckle and steel studs, not a cheaper alloy bought from commercial source. The craftsman should consider that. I did not buy this pouch because it was cheap, or I would've bought some Temu fanny pack for $3. I bought it and paid extra for culture and quality. A leatherworker is not a metalworker, but he must work in conjunction with a proper metalsmith if he truly wishes to make the finest product. I do recommend this pouch. I only wish the craftsman who made it put more thought into the metal, even if that is not his field. I would happily have paid extra for steel fittings. A final note -- it looks great!! I am very happy with my purchase overall.
